Why did you become a Professional Chef?

 

Growing up in a household where the tantalizing aroma of spices and simmering sauces was a constant companion, my culinary journey was destined to unfold. With a father who has dedicated his life to the art of cooking, it was only natural for me to embrace this passion and carry it forward, using the wisdom he imparted to me for the greater good.

My culinary story began at the tender age of 12 when my grandmother, a visionary with a flair for hospitality, purchased a neighborhood bar and restaurant. It was here that I stepped into the vibrant world of gastronomy, starting my first job bussing tables and running food. Little did I know, this would be the foundation of a lifelong passion. My father, the head chef, was my guiding light, and on one bustling Fish Friday, my grandmother called me into the kitchen. “Time to learn,” she said, and just like that, I was thrust into the heart of the culinary action, helping with prep and dishes.

From that moment on, I was hooked. I started crafting everything from fresh pizza dough to mouthwatering subs, hoagies, wings, and the beloved fish fries. Each dish taught me something new, igniting my creativity and love for cooking.

Fifteen years in the industry flew by, filled with a myriad of experiences and flavors, but I knew I needed to deepen my knowledge and refine my skills. So, I made a pivotal decision: I enrolled in culinary school. It was, without a doubt, the best decision I’ve ever made.

Since then, my culinary career has soared to new heights, allowing me to blend tradition with innovation and create dishes that not only satisfy the palate but tell a story. I am driven by a passion for food that transcends the plate, and I’m excited to continue this delicious journey, honoring my family legacy while carving out my own unique path in the culinary world.

Did you ever want to be anything other than a chef for a career choice?

 

From the moment I picked up my first instrument, music became the soundtrack of my life. With a heart full of melodies and a passion for harmony, I dedicated the majority of my life to the art of music. Initially, I envisioned myself as a music teacher for the developmentally disabled, dreaming of creating a symphony of joy and connection through music.

While that dream still resonates deeply within me, I’ve come to realize that if the world ever decides to stop indulging in delicious food, perhaps I’ll pivot to a career in the musical arts! After all, what better way to celebrate life than through music

Whether I’m strumming chords on my guitar, composing original pieces, or contemplating the perfect recipe for a gourmet dish, my journey is a harmonious blend of musical passion and a sprinkle of culinary curiosity. Life is a grand composition, and I’m here to make sure it’s filled with rhythm, flavor, and a dash of laughter.

My top 3 favorites would be a tantalizing array of seafood, succulent pork, and a delightful selection of mushrooms, including the exotic lion's mane, robust portobello, and earthy hen of the woods.
